Liberal-leaning filmmaker Michael Moore called on Democrats to block Neil Gorsuch from being confirmed for the Supreme Court.
He said if they did not, liberals would organize opponents to defeat them in the next primaries.
Democrats should have been allowed to fill the vacant seat when Obama was president, Moore tweeted Wednesday.
Moore, who made documentaries including "Michael Moore in TrumpLand," "Fahrenheit 9/11" and "Sicko," then urged Democrats to vote down Gorsuch.
Also Wednesday, Moore rebuked the Democratic Party in a post on Facebook.
"We don't control a single branch of government and are still on the losing end as we now watch our country being sacked by a malignant narcissist. The old, tired, weak, always-caving-in guard of the Democratic Party — God love 'em — but they have to go. We need new Dems NOW," Moore wrote.
The filmmaker has frequently criticized Republicans and President Donald Trump. In December 2016, he said it was possible that Trump would quit before taking office, because he would find the job too difficult.
