House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., slammed the Democrats’ congressional leaders for blocking renewed funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.
McCarthy made his comments on a Tuesday tweet, where he singled out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi D-Calif. He urged his followers to retweet his Twitter post.
McCarthy wrote: “RT to tell Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to STOP blocking critical funding for small businesses. The Paycheck Protection Program is about to run out of money— millions of jobs are hanging in the balance. Congress MUST ACT!”
The Washington Post reported both Schumer and Pelosi said this week that they will not agree to the administration’s insistence on more money for the small business loans program unless there is additional funding for hospitals, state and local governments and food stamp recipients.
The Paycheck Protection Program will run out of money on Friday.
