Republican Omar Navarro, who is looking to unseat Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., tore into his opponent and said she is “one of the most divisive figures in the U.S.”
Navarro was interviewed on television’s “Fox & Friends” on Thursday.
“She is trying to divide people,” he said of Waters, one of Trump’s most outspoken critics. “What we need to bring back is a balance of unity. We need to make sure we are working with the president of the United States. -- not against his interests.
“Maxine Waters represents probably one of the most divisive figures our country. She is trying to impeach the president. She is trying to fight the president every step of the way.”
Waters also has encouraged her supporters to harass members of Trump’s Cabinet when they are out in public.
“I'm for America first. I'm for #MAGA. I'm for working with the president and not working against his interests.
He claimed Waters lives in a $4.5 million mansion outside her district.
“I live with the people. I eat with the people. I’m a part of that district.”
