Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., announced her candidacy on Thursday for the Senate.

Her announcement came in a video posted on the Tennessean newspaper website.

"I'm Marsha Blackburn," she said in the video. "I'm a hardcore, card-carrying Tennessee conservative. I'm politically incorrect and proud of it.

"The fact that our Republican majority in the U.S. Senate can't overturn Obamacare or will not overturn Obamacare is a disgrace. Too many Senate Democrats acting like Democrats or worse. And that is what we have to change.

"I'm running for the U.S. Senate because I'll fight every day to have our Republican majority act like one. America needs a conservative revolution and leaders who are willing to fight in it."

Blackburn, who aligns herself with President Donald Trump in the video, is hoping to fill the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Bob Corker in the 2018 election.

And The Hill noted conservative activist Andy Ogles is the only major candidate in the Republican primary so far.

Republican State Sen. Mark Green, who withdrew his name for Army Secretary after comments he made about gays and lesbians, will run for Blackburn's House seat, the Tennessean reported.
