Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said in her address to this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference that “nobody has been hit” by online censorship “like President Donald Trump.”

The senator said in her speech that if she “asked for a show of hands, how many of you have lived with being blocked, or shadow-banned, or throttled, or censored? I say a lot of hands going up.”

She added that “nobody has been hit by this like President Donald Trump.

“First, thSen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) addresses the Conservative Political Action Conference being held in the Hyatt Regency on February 26, 2021 in Orlando, Florida. Begun in 1974, CPAC brings together conservative organizations, activists, and world leaders to discuss issues important to them. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images)ey decided they were going to fact-check him, the leader of the free world!” Blackburn continued. “Then they were going to block him — send a message ... then they were going to permanently ban him ... The leader of the free world.”

She noted that “If you go on Twitter today,” heads of state like President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Xi Jinping of China “and other despotic leaders, they are on there spewing their hate, their vitriol. They have not been fact-checked or banned that I can find. But us conservatives, we have had to put up with this. Big tech, big media, and the Democrats are never going to stop trying to silence us, but they don't realize we are going to fight back.”
