Rep. Meadows: Eject Lawmakers Who Are 'Duds'

Lawmakers who do not support President Donald Trump's agenda should be made to leave Congress, according to Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C.

The House Freedom Caucus chairman compared legislators to shells in a gun that fail to fire, so gun users must leave the shell in the chamber to try to fire it again, or to eject it, according to a video of an Oct. 13 speech posted by The Washington Post.

"I would suggest we have some members that are duds and have been left in the chamber too long, and it's time that we eject them," Meadows said.

Meadows' speech was at the Values Voter Summit, a Christian conservative policy conference, according to The Hill.

"Don't you think it's time that Congress quits talking and starts doing?" Meadows said at another point in his speech, the Hill reported.
