Conservative radio host Mark Levin announced Wednesday he supports Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's re-election bid.
Rubio, who ended his Republican presidential bid in March and has said for months he did not plan to run for the Senate again, reversed course and said he will campaign for another term on Capitol Hill.
Levin announced his support in a Conservative Review op-ed
. He will also make the announcement on his LevinTV show Wednesday night.
"The Senator has reversed his position on whether or not to run again, and I see his change of heart as crucial to protecting, among other things, the Supreme Court," Levin wrote.
"In particular, should Hillary Clinton win the presidency, we will need as many reliable judicial originalists as possible in the Senate to prevent her from packing the Court with Ruth Bader Ginsburg wannabes. Should Donald Trump win the presidency, we will need these same senators to ensure he makes good on his promise to nominate originalists."
Florida Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, the Republican running for Rubio's seat, said last week he would abandon his campaign if Rubio decided to run again
