Congress should have no trouble finding the money to pay for President-elect Donald Trump's wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, Rep. Louie Gohmert said on "Fox and Friends" Friday morning.

"I've been thrilled how our Republican leadership has just gotten all excited about Trump," the Texas Republican said, adding that Congress has appropriated money for similar projects in the past, and that they will work together with the White House to build the wall.

"It's amazing what you can get Congress to do when you lead and push them in the right direction. And actually, you know, we had appropriated money during the Bush administration that didn't get spent for the wall, so, yeah, it's going to be great to have somebody that's actually following the law."

Gohmert added that more money could be redirected from "all of the illegals we've been in-processing," and that this could amount to billions towards the wall.

He also said that the wall wouldn't have to span the entire border, using his state's Big Bend National Park, which sits along the border, as a example.

Trump outlined a plan in October for Congress to fund the wall initially "with the full understanding" that Mexico will reimburse the U.S., according to Fox News Latino.
