Top Republican donors have signed up for a fundraiser in support of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham's potential 2016 presidential bid.
Las Vegas casino mogul and GOP mega donor Sheldon Adelson will co-chair a fundraiser on March 3 in support of Graham's campaign exploratory committee, Security Through Strength, Politico is reporting.
The fundraising event will be held at the Capitol Hill club after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gives his address to Congress, which is taking place on the same day.
The event is described as a "luncheon and policy discussion." Those who are attending the event, are also invited to arrive early to watch Netanyahu's address together before Graham arrives.
Other donors, who are also co-chairs of the event include Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz, hedge fund manager Seth Klarman, real estate developer David Flaum and home builder Larry Mizel. Co-chairs are asked to pay $2,700 and attendees are asked to pay $1,000.
Matt Brooks of the Republican Jewish Coalition will moderate the discussion. Other lawmakers joining the discussion include New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman, Arizona Sen. John McCain, former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy and California Rep. Ed Royce.
One of Graham's advisers said that the participation of his fellow lawmakers doesn't amount to an endorsement, saying that "it's too early for that as Graham is still in the 'testing the waters' phase."
