With control of the Senate at play in 2012, Democrats and even some Republicans have tried drawing Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman to their side, as he contemplates whether to run for re-election next year. If Lieberman does run it will likely be as an independent, he tells
WFSB TV in Hartford.
“During the taping of an interview for this week’s ‘Face the State with Dennis House,’ I asked the four-term independent if he thinks he could win re-election,” House writes on the station’s website. “The answer: ‘yes,’ while admitting it will be a difficult race. Lieberman told me if he does run, it will likely be as an independent, although he said some of his Democratic colleagues in the Senate have been encouraging him to run as a Democrat.”
