Poll: Latino Voters Back Biden Over Trump

Democrat Joe Biden holds a significant lead over President Donald Trump among Latino voters, according to a new poll.

Key results in the NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo survey:

  • 62% of Latino voters said they will vote for Biden, compared to 26% who said they will vote for Trump.
  • Younger Latino voters (71%), female Latinos (67%), and Latinos who primarily speak Spanish at home (68%) all favor Biden over Trump.
  • 30% of Latino voters approve of the job Trump is doing, compared to 59% who disapprove.
  • 63% of Catholic Latino voters disapprove of Trump's job performance, compared to 47% of people from other religions.
  • 41% said the economy is the most important issue in the upcoming November election, followed by healthcare (29%) the coronavirus pandemic (23%), and protecting the rights of immigrants (23%).

The poll was conducted from Sept. 13-16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.66 percentage points.

According to RealClear Politics, Biden holds a 6.5-point lead nationally ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
