Texas Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" this week, as the late-night host takes his show to the South by Southwest Festival for the first time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Republican governor is among several guests due to appear on the ABC talk show during its weeklong visit to Austin, Texas, for the film and music festival also called SXSW, including Seth Rogen, Rachael Ray, Snoop Dogg, and Willie Nelson.
Perry is stepping down as governor at the end of the year, and he’s expected to make another run for the White House in 2016 after his failed, short-lived bid in 2012.
Fugitive National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden was one of the guest speakers at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival
on Monday via a video feed from Russia, where he’s been living in temporary asylum after fleeing the United States.
In his speech, Snowden, who leaked classified documents revealing the surveillance activities of the NSA, said that technology companies need to take a leadership role
in improving encryption tools.
