Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., said Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp's vote against Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court has continued to energize Republican voters in his race to unseat her.
"Well, I can tell you, having been out across North Dakota this last weekend and week doing my Main Street tour, it has only enhanced the enthusiasm for our campaign," Cramer told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
"But I have enjoyed a pretty good lead ever since I got in the race in February. Certainly, the enthusiasm level has been accelerated."
A Fox News poll, taken before the Kavanaugh vote, revealed Cramer had a 12-point lead over Heitkamp.
Cramer said he was surprised by Heitkamp's vote against proceding to the Senate vote.
"Brett Kavanaugh is the perfect Supreme Court justice for North Dakota," he said. "I mean, he is right down the center of the plate for North Dakota. So, you know, I would prefer to have my senator voting for him."
