Kellyanne Conway insisted President Donald Trump wants to negotiate a “good deal” on border security.

But she maintained Democrats do not want to listen.

“They have to come to the table. This should be a nonpartisan issue,” she said. The border is everybody’s business. Border security is national security. We need a secure border.”

Her comments came during a Thursday interview on television’s “Fox & Friends.”

“The president said yesterday that we want people to come here,” Conway said. “But we want them to come her safely and legally.”

She noted Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., along with other Democratic leaders, attended a meeting at the White House to discuss border security. But she said Pelosi and other Democrats kept interrupting officials who were trying to outline the figures for the border.

“They do not want to hear the facts and the figures,” she said.

Trump had invited leadership to the White House to present a border security deal that could end a government shutdown that will be approaching two weeks this Friday night.
