White House counsel Kellyanne Conway recently won the American Association of Political Consultants MVP award, but members of the AAPC from both parties are questioning if her work on President Donald Trump's campaign broke the organization's ethics code.

One anonymous Democratic member told Politico that others in the AAPC were "questioning her ability and how much say she had in the campaign as well as the ethics of her participation in the campaign." Another said, "people were angry. It blew up on Facebook" and, "there were people questioning ... whether to go to [AAPC] events in the future."

Conway did not attend the conference where the award was given, but did record a video to accept the award. Neither the AAPC nor the White House gave Politico a comment.

The president's former campaign manager also caught the ire of MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski, who told Variety that "everyone should ban her," following the decision to cease booking Conway on her and Joe Scarborough's "Morning Joe."

"I'm surprised that these little acrobatic games are played with her on live national television. I think it denigrates what we do. It's clear she doesn't bring anything to the table. It's clear she doesn't know exactly what she's talking about. It's clear she's making it up as she goes along."
