Frequent White House staff changes are creating a "chaotic situation" that makes it difficult for President Donald Trump to move forward with his agenda, Gov. John Kasich said Sunday.

In an interview on CNN's "State of the Union," the Ohio Republican said there's got to be "stability" in the staff.

"The problem you have is when you have chaos among your staff — staff in, staff out; new people here, new people there — it's hard to get anything done," he said. "You have to be focused, you have to build a team."

"My concern is when you have that kind of chaotic situation in terms of staff, they need to settle it down," he added.

Kasich said he doesn't know the "inner workings" of the Trump White House, but "they've got to get stability among the staff."

He also said he's got no plans to challenge Trump in 2020.

"I'm rooting for him to get it together. We all are," Kasich said. "I mean, we're like seven months into this presidency and, you know, look, what we have to start thinking about, all of us — not just the president, but down where we live, in the neighborhoods, in the communities, we have to build a stronger America."
