In rare, if not surprising, bipartisan agreement, 69% percent of Americans want to investigate the origins of the Justice Department's probe into 2016 presidential election meddling by Russia, according to a recent CNN poll, Fox News reported.

Democrats (76%), even more so than independents (69%) or Republicans (62%), support the investigation into the DOJ's handling of the Russia probe, according to the CNN poll.

"Did Democrats misunderstand the question there," a Fox News' "Fox & Friends" co-host asked. "They just want more: 'What else did [President Donald] Trump do?'

"They don't understand it's going to turn around on [former President] Barack Obama, maybe."

Former White House press secretary for President George W. Bush Ari Fleisher raised the latter suggestion via Twitter on Saturday amid The New York Times report the Obama administration used a spy to try to infiltrate the Trump campaign. Fleisher tweeted Saturday:

"I have a hard time believing the FBI used covert techniques vs a presidential campaign without obtaining approval from above. Did AG Lynch know? Did she, or anyone else, tell the WH? Who at the WH? Did Biden know? Did Obama know? This story is not over."
