There's five months' worth of gaps in the emails former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton turned over to the government, and a watchdog group dogging the data dump wants "an explanation about that."

According to The Daily Caller, gaps in the emails were discovered in documents Judicial Watch has recently obtained.

"A five month email gap," Judicial Watch's president, Tom Fitton, told the group's Leadership Summit Monday, The Daily Caller reports. "I want an explanation about that."

"These emails raise questions whether Clinton told the truth last month" when she submitted a statement to federal court that she'd handed over all the required emails, he added.

Fitton also blasted Clinton's claim emails she didn’t turn over were of a personal matter.

"It's malarkey that the emails Clinton withheld were of a personal nature," he told the Summit, asserting her personal emails were "intertwined and indistinguishable" from work-related emails and federal records.

Clinton has come under relentless fire for her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state – even after her apology while campaigning as a Democratic presidential contender.

"I suspect that federal courts will want more information about these documents," Fitton said, The Daily Caller reports. "We’ll be getting more info on these requests, so who knows what else is in there."

The gaps are "comparable to the Nixon 18-minute gap" in the Watergate tapes, Fitton charged. "She didn’t have the right to determine what's personal and what's work."

Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit in July 2014 seeking records from Clinton and her top State Department staff about talks concerning the deadly attack on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya in 2012.
