Rep. Jim Jordan Tuesday slammed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that passed the Senate Tuesday and the upcoming $3.5 trillion budget spending bill, calling the plans an extension of the Democrats' "ridiculous" strategy for the American economy.
"Unfortunately some Republican senators chose to go along with the so-called infrastructure bill," the Ohio Republican said on Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria." "When have you seen an infrastructure bill that had the word 'equity' in it over 60 times? This tells you this is not really infrastructure."
Meanwhile, the $3.5 trillion packages, when added to the infrastructure bill, combines to expand the Democrats' "ridiculous economic plan," said Jordan.
"Here is their economic plan," he said. "Lockdown your economy, spend like crazy, pay people not to work. By the way, for all Americans working hard, we are going to raise your taxes. These are the four stupidest ideas...what it does is drive up prices for every good and service American families have to buy."
It also makes "no sense" that any GOP senators would go along with the infrastructure bill at a time when they should be focused on the crisis at the nation's border, said Jordan.
Also on Tuesday, show anchor Maria Bartiromo asked Jordan if he believes the COVID crisis will still be going on next summer and into the fall of 2022 and affect the upcoming midterm elections, and Jordan said Democrats are seeming to want to focus on "creating fear" around the pandemic.
"COVID is serious," he said.
"We understand that we need to treat it seriously but they are focused on creating fear the I think across the country. "(As far as) the border situation, I think I think we now have to say clearly this is intentional, there is no other way to interpret this. The Biden administration is intentionally allowing people to cross our border...we need to make that point clear to the American people. We allow the world to come into our nation without proper protocols, without detaining people. (They are) not returning people to their native lands and they are not following the law. It is intentional."
