Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans to continue his scathing attacks on billionaire developer Donald Trump as the two continue their quest to capture the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
Kasich released an ad Monday assailing front-running rival Donald Trump's "flip-flops" on the surveillance and registry of Syrian refugees and Muslims.
And
The Columbus Dispatch reports New Day for America, a pro-Kasich super-PAC, is out to expose Trump's contributions to and praises of Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
"Unfortunately, Trump isn't willing to put his money where his mouth is. He might talk a big game, but Trump always puts his money first and that should scare Republican primary voters who can't trust Trump," New Day for America spokesperson Connie Wehrkamp told the newspaper.
And
according to The Toledo Blade, Kasich said he believes Trump's immense popularity in the polls is soon to fade away.
"It's sort of like the snow's here today, it's going to be 60 on Thanksgiving and everybody'll wonder where the snow went," Kasich said.
Trump incurred the wrath of the Ohio Republican Party this week by criticizing Kasich as "one of the worst presidential candidates in history" and a "dummy" during an appearance in Columbus, after he was warned not to.
Kasich's chief strategist said in a tweet:
Regardless of the sniping, Trump remains the Republican front-runner, with Kasich in eighth place, according to a
Real Clear Politics average of national presidential polls.
