Republican presidential candidate Joe Walsh bashed the decision by four states over the weekend to cancel GOP primaries next year as "undemocratic bulls***."

"This is absolute, undemocratic bulls***," Walsh, 57, who represented Illinois in the House for one term, told Anderson Cooper on CNN on Monday. "They are denying Americans the right to vote."

Republican Party officials in South Carolina, Nevada, Kansas, and Arizona said they would cancel primaries next year, creating difficulties for challengers to President Donald Trump.

Others seeking to deny Trump a second term include former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, who served seven terms in the House, and former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld.

Ex-Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a former 2000 and 2016 presidential candidate, also has expressed interest in challenging Trump.

In January, the Republican National Committee voted to express its "undivided support" for Trump and his "effective presidency."

Walsh, whose conservative radio talk show was pulled after his presidential announcement, told Cooper that while "every day, there are attacks on our democracy … this goes well beyond.

"Donald Trump is trying to prevent people from voting," he added. "He's in cahoots with the Republican party to disenfranchise voters."
