Former Vice President Joe Biden gave props to President Donald Trump for walking away from the negotiating table with North Korea, saying he made the right call.

"The president did the right thing by walking away," Biden said during a speech at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

Biden added, "But diplomacy matters, preparation matters. The president treats everything like it's a real estate deal."

Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, Vietnam this week as the U.S. tries to convince the reclusive nation to give up its nuclear weapons. When the two sides could not come to an agreement Thursday, Trump ended the talks and departed the country a short time later.

Also offering praise for Trump's decision was Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
