Vice President Joe Biden mocked GOP nominee Donald Trump for his early morning tweets about former Miss Universe winner Alicia Machado.

"You've got to really think about the character of someone. What type of leader awakens at three o'clock in the morning," Biden said, speaking at a rally for Hillary Clinton in Orlando, pausing while the crowd laughed. "No, no, no, no, no, I'm being deadly earnest.

"You don't have to be a psychologist or psychiatrist, but what kind of a leader awakens at three o'clock in the morning and tweets Hillary helped, quote, disgusting Alicia M, become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in a debate. Or 3:30 in the morning? This guy wants to be president of the United States of America."

Clinton referenced Machado while denouncing Trump for his comments about women, and in the week that followed, Trump continued his feud with her.

He later defended his late-night tweeting:

Following the debate, Machado is once again in the spotlight, appearing on NBC’s "Today" show and in Cosmopolitan Magazine, where she said Trump's insults had caused a return to bulimia that required years to recover from, and she became a United States citizen in order to vote against the billionaire.
