Bush Campaign Video Focuses on Society's 'Most Vulnerable'

By    |   Monday, 15 June 2015 07:30 AM

Jeb Bush's campaign Monday morning released his presidential campaign announcement video, which features Floridians praising their former governor and previews a platform that promises a focus on "the most vulnerable in our society."

"What we need is new leadership that takes conservative principles and applies them so that people can rise up," Bush says in the video, reports CBS News.

"America's best days are ahead of us, and we are going to lead the world."

Story continues below video.

Bush says in the video, titled "Making a Difference," that his "core beliefs start with the premise that the most vulnerable in our society should be in the front of the line, not the back."

The video starts off with several Florida residents telling how Bush's policies helped them overcome hardships including disability, domestic violence and gaps in public education.

"I think Gov. Bush changed a lot of lives in Florida," says Sarasota resident Kim Donatelle. "I am very grateful that he was our governor."

Bush, who is expected to officially launch his White House bid in Miami on Monday, shows himself as a problem solver in his first campaign video, saying that "you can improve the life of people, whether it's in the programs for the developmentally disabled, or changing our economy, or fixing our higher education system. All of these things can be fixed. I am absolutely convinced of it."

Without naming names, Bush also jabs at his many opponents for the GOP nomination in the ad, saying "there are a lot of people talking, and they’re pretty good at it. We need to start fixing things."

"Leadership," he says, "is not just about yapping about things."

The campaign also this weekend unveiled its official logo, which simply says "Jeb!" in large, bright red letters. The Bush name is not in the logo, although Jeb is a nickname that comes from his legal name: John Ellis Bush.
