Jeb Bush, speaking to a group of Republicans in New Hampshire on Thursday night, took a small swipe back at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie after being asked about Christie's comments that suggested the Bush campaign was already losing steam, The Asbury Park Press reported.

"Who?" Bush asked, feigning ignorance in response.

The former Florida governor and GOP primary front-runner, according to early polls — even as he his not formally announced if he would make a 2016 presidential run — quickly pivoted to positivity in framing the rest of his response.

"I'm going to talk about foreign policy a lot and I'm not into the process side of this," Bush told those gathered at a snowshoe club in Concord. "I'm excited about the possibility of running. I'm learning, I'm trying to garner the level of support I have, and there will be a long time to talk about the differences should this become an actual campaign."

Christie, who said he and his wife had not yet come to a decision on if he will run, showed characteristic bluntness in an appearance on NBC's "Today" show Thursday morning in discussing Bush.

He said Bush's campaign looks like a "train that has slowed down pretty significantly from what I’ve seen out and around the country."

His latest dig at Bush followed remarks he made on Wednesday, when he seemed to suggest that he didn't think Bush had a grasp on foreign policy specifics, the Asbury Park Press reported, citing comments from an appearance Wednesday on Laura Ingraham's radio show.

"The one speech that he’s given so far, I thought was rather general," Christie said.

"He’s certainly got a father and brother who have a record. And I don’t know what Jeb Bush is going to say about foreign policy," Christie added, according to Time, which also reported that Bush outpaces Christie in both polling and fundraising for now.

"So let’s see what he’s got to say for himself," Christie said. "In the end, his record, and more importantly his vision for what the future is going to be, is what is going to determine how credible of a candidate he is."
