Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch, who has been praising anti-GOP establishment for more than a year, called Texas Sen. Ted Cruz a "sure bet" on his Twitter page over the weekend.
The words of
praise for Cruz weren't the first for Welch, who said last April and again in December that he best liked Cruz for president, telling Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto" that he looks to "truth and trust," echoing a theme in his book
"The Real-Life MBA: Your No-BS Guide to Winning the Game, Building a Team, and Growing Your Career," which he wrote with his wife, Suzy.
"Where truth is spoken, spin is gone," Welch said last April. "This country needs more truth and trust. Ted Cruz says what he is going to do and he does it. And he is as smart as a whip."
Cruz is able to move audiences, much like former President Ronald Reagan, Welch said, but needs to smile more "because he is a hell of a good guy."
