Delaware's Gov. Jack Markell is all-in for Joe Biden, saying he'd "absolutely support" the vice president should he make a run for the White House in 2016.

Biden has "a lifetime of advocacy on behalf of the middle class and unbelievable experience, knowledge and insight into foreign policy," the Democratic governor said Monday, the News Journal in Delaware reports.

Biden hasn't yet said if he's in or out of the race, and Markell tells the newspaper he hasn't spoken with Biden about a potential candidacy. Biden's expected to announce his decision in September, the News Journal reports.

"When he's ready to make that decision, there will be a lot of people interested to hear what decision he makes," Markell said. "But otherwise what I think, what anybody else thinks is not really relevant. But I'd absolutely support him."

The newspaper notes the super PAC encouraging a bid, Draft Biden, has added the former campaign political and finance director of Biden's late son, Beau, who died in May of brain cancer and reportedly wanted his dad to make one more run for the White House.

Biden also was reaching out to supporters while vacationing in South Carolina last week.

A Gallup poll earlier this month showed 45 percent of Democrats, including independents who lean Democratic, say they want him to run for president in 2016, but 47 percent do not.

Markell, however, has always been in Biden's corner for the 2016 race, telling MSNBC in 2013, "I'm a Biden guy."
