Amid Bob Woodward's book release a large majority of Americans do not trust President Donald Trump on the global coronavirus pandemic response, including believing he acted too slowly, according to the latest ABC News/IPSOS poll.

Woodward's book tour included a release of tapes Trump saying he was downplaying the virus and now this poll finds 67% of American adults say the White House coronavirus task force response was too slow. Also, 68% do not trust what Trump says about the virus.

Another recent report seeking to damage the president before the election, The Atlantic, citing an anonymous source, saying Trump called dead American soldiers "losers" and "suckers" has worked to earn Biden support from 61% of American adults on more respect for the military.

Trump has just 37% support on showing more respect for the military versus Biden.

The numbers are skeptical on his coronavirus response, too – the bulwark issue at the Democratic National Convention last month. Less than one-third (31%) believe Trump acted with the appropriate speed amid the pandemic, while just 1% thought he acted too quickly.

It should be noted that finding is dramatically a partisan issue, however. A large majority of Republicans (69%) believe Trump acted at the right pace.

Also, the trust of Biden on pandemic is a split decision. Just 51% trust Biden a great deal or at least some versus a combined 49% trusting him not so much or not at all.

The DNC and RNC have competing views on the pandemic, but there has been no movement of Trump's overall approval on it, remaining steady at 35%.

This ABC News/Ipsos poll was conducted Sept. 11-12, 2020 among 533 American adults with margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.
