Trump 'Somewhat' Vindicated By 'Incidental Collection' Finding

Fox News' "Shepard Smith Reporting"

President Donald Trump feels "somewhat" vindicated Wednesday by the House Intelligence Committee chairman's assertion intelligence agencies incidentally collected information on Trump's transition team.

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., reported the communications of Trump transition officials — and possibly including Trump himself — might have been "monitored" after the election as part of an "incidental collection."

Asked about Nunes' finding, and if Trump now felt "vindicated" for having stuck to his assertion he had been under surveillance during the campaign, Trump replied:

"I somewhat do," he said in a clip of the statement played on Fox News' "Shepard Smith Reporting" show.

"I must tell you, I somewhat do. I appreciated the fact that they found what they found. I somewhat do."
