A House panel scheduled a vote Thursday on whether to hold White House counselor Kellyanne Conway in contempt for ignoring a subpoena to testify about violations of a law banning White House employees from talking about elections in their official roles.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee's move Monday comes amid an ongoing battle between Democrats and the White House over compliance with congressional oversight probes, The Hill reported.

The committee has been after Conway to testify at two separate hearings on Hatch Act violations, The Hill reported.

After Conway did not appear voluntarily for testimony last month, the panel voted to subpoena her. She did not comply; the White House asserted she was immune.

The Office of Special Counsel had found Conway violated the Hatch Act multiple times, and recommended President Donald Trump fire her.
