House Republicans were seething Tuesday over the "incompetence" of their peers in the Senate to even muster a vote on healthcare, wasting legislation that GOP lawmakers in the House passed in May, the Washington Examiner reported.
"There is a lot of frustration, borderline anger I guess, at what really has to be described as some level of incompetence to be able to get together and get something done," Rep. Mark Walker, R-N.C., told the Examiner.
And that was before Senate Republicans also put the kibosh on a vote just to repeal Obamacare.
"I'm kind of shocked because they bent over backwards to do a lot of compromising to get the moderate votes and even with all of that, a bunch of moderates couldn't get there," Rep. Dave Brat, R-Va., told the Examiner. "After seven years and 50 repeal votes, it strains credulity and rationality in my mind."
Even Sen. Mike Lee said the failure of the upper house to repeal Obamacare would be a "sad reflection" on Republicans.
House Republicans were able to narrowly pass the American Health Care Act in early May, only to have Senate Republicans start from scratch on their version, vowing to make it better than the House's.
