More than 100 House Democrats are not satisfied with the Trump administration's paid family leave program and let him know that in a letter.

According to The Hill, the lawmakers want family leave to be 12 weeks of paid medical leave, not six as outlined by President Donald Trump's White House.

"We are concerned that the proposal included in your 2018 budget request is inadequate because it only provides six weeks of paid leave for limited circumstances and without a solid funding mechanism," the letter reads.

The family leave proposal was drawn up by Ivanka Trump, a senior adviser to the president. She wrote a Wall Street Journal opinion piece last week and said the program has worked for her own business.

"The policy outlined in the administration's recent budget proposal emphasizes the need for mothers and fathers to have access to paid leave to encourage both parents to share parenting responsibilities and to strive toward minimizing hiring biases," she wrote.

Democrats support making paid family leave the law, but they'd like to see Trump's plan improved.

"We urge you to work with us to support a truly comprehensive solution for working Americans," the Democrats' letter reads.
