Hillary Clinton tweeted Thursday that "in the United States of America, no one is above the law" after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced that the House Judiciary Committee would draw up articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

Clinton's post included a retweet of the speaker's televised announcement.

Pelosi said that she directed the Judiciary panel to act because Trump's alleged actions regarding Ukraine "leaves us no choice but to act, because he is trying to corrupt once again the election for his own benefit."

Clinton, who came under similar attacks by Republicans during her email investigation, has long maintained that Russia's interference in the 2016 election fueled her loss to Trump.
