Are you "Ready for Hillary?"
Although the former secretary of state hasn't decided if she'll make a second White House bid, FOH (fans of Hillary) are already at work creating early-stage merchandise for a possible
Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign.
A chic line-drawing portrait of the former U.S. senator's face silhouettes the T-shirt image with a single word beneath it: Ready. The new shirts were among items created by the online Ready for Hillary store, where baseballs caps are adorned with a block H and there's even a gray and red "Ready-to-Go Bag" featuring Clinton's warmly smiling face.
Also for sale: a gray and hot pink bumper sticker that touts the new hashtag: #hillary2016, and an iPhone "dot pack," which allows her supporters to fly their Hillary flag on their smartphones.
USA Today reports that proceeds from the Clinton gear are considered campaign donations for the super PAC, which is run by friends and supporters of her previous presidential campaign.
The Hillary store is not the only online place for possible goods. Sites like Zazzle.com, Politiclothes.com, and Cafepress.com all have their own presumptive Clinton 2016 items including the ubiquitous "Keep Calm and Vote Clinton."
Whether Clinton herself is concerned about the early promotions is unclear. But political observers have expressed worries that such fundraising and interest puts the cart before the horse,
The Washington Post reported.
Super PACs may not confer with a potential candidate or political party, the Post said, noting that neither Clinton nor the people behind Ready for Hillary have had contact with one another.
"They are an independent entity acting on their own passion. Their energy and enthusiasm to convince her to run is inspiring, though only she in the end can make that very personal decision," Clinton's spokesman Nick Merrill told the Post.
