Georgia U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker displayed the competitiveness of his football career when responding to President Joe Biden's demand that he resign from the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.
"President Biden is so scared about us beating [Sen.] Raphael Warnock that he has asked me to resign from my unpaid position on the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition," Walker tweeted Thursday.
"I'm not a quitter so you are going to have to fire me."
Walker and Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is running for an open Senate seat in Pennsylvania, received letters Wednesday from Gautam Raghaven, assistant to President Joe Biden, telling them to resign or be fired from the council.
Both men were named to the council by then-President Donald Trump.
Oz also tweeted that he "will not resign."
Walker, a former star NFL running back and Heisman Trophy-winner, was council chair. He’s vying to unseat Warnock, D-Ga.
Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Walker in the Republican primary.
"It's very important to have the endorsement of President Trump, because I think President Trump knows that I can get the job done here in Georgia," Walker told Fox News' "Fox & Friends Weekend" in late September.
