A new poll found that more voters see Kamala Harris as "too liberal or progressive" on policy than see Donald Trump as "too conservative."
The New York Times/Siena College poll, which was published Sunday, found Trump with a slight lead over Harris, 48%-47%.
Thirty-two percent of voters said Trump is "too conservative," 11% said he is "not conservative enough," 50% said he is "not too far either way," and 8% either said they didn't know or refused to answer.
Forty-four percent of voters said Harris is "too liberal or progressive," 9% said she is "not liberal or progressive enough," 42% said she is "not too far either way," and 5% either said they didn't know or refused to answer.
Twenty-eight percent of voters feel they should know more about Harris in order to support her, while 9% said the same for Trump, the poll found, the Times reported.
The poll, conducted Sept. 3-6, was based on phone surveys with 1,695 registered voters nationwide. The margin of error among likely voters is plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
