Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., on Friday told Newsmax TV that the mainstream media is “trying to sow discord” in the Republican Party with recent reports suggesting a break between Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and President Donald Trump.
In an interview on “The National Report” Friday, Steube denied a rift between Trump and Cheney, the third-highest ranking Republican in the House, after she publicly rebuked people who refuse to wear masks and pushed the administration to address reports of Russian bounties on American soldiers in Afghanistan.
“You just have the mainstream media that's trying to sow discord and show that there's dissension among the party for supporting the president.”
He added that “Cheney supports the president, we all support the present, we support his reelection efforts but any time they can sow some type of division within the unity in the Republican Party, they're gonna try to extrapolate that and make it look like there's some huge division amongst us in the House or in the Republican caucus, and that's just not the case.”
