Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., blamed former President Barack Obama for setting the stage for ISIS’ rise in the Middle East, calling it “bulls**t” that a 2011 removal of U.S. forces from Iraq was part of a prior agreement.
In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Graham declared that “Everything we're dealing with today falls on Obama's watch.”
Pressed on whether the removal resulted from a “forces agreement in Iraq,” Graham fumed: “No. That's a bunch of bulls**t. Pardon my French. That's an absolute lie. Obama wanted to get to zero. He got to zero… ISIS came as a result to withdraw from Iraq.”
Graham said President Donald Trump was “dealt a bad hand by Obama” but now “needs to play it better than he's playing it,” referring to the president’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria.
He said at an expected meeting with the president on Sunday, “I’m going to ask the president to do something that POresident Obama would never do. Reconsider.”
