Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is warning Democrats against calling any witnesses during former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial next week.
His comments came during an interview with Fox News on Monday.
“If you open that can of worms, we’ll want the FBI to come in and tell us about how people pre-planned this attack (on the Capitol) and what happened with the security footprint at the Capitol,” he said. “You open up Pandora's Box if you call one witness.”
His comments came as The Washington Post reported that court filings and video describe how several groups of men appear to engage in concerted action, converging on the West Front of the Capitol on the day of the riot. And one indictment of the protesters said actions showed “planning, determination and coordination.”
Democrats are expected to announce as early as Tuesday if they will call witnesses.
And Graham remarked it could be a long trial if witnesses are called.
Meanwhile, Fox News noted that David Schoen, one of the attorneys who will represent Trump, told Fox News Host Sean Hannity that Democrats have already made the determination that Trump is guilty.
