House Republicans should use Democrats' calls to impeach President Donald Trump in their midterm elections campaigns, a GOP pollster said Thursday.

During an interview with The Hill's Joe Concha, Brett Loyd said GOP candidates can use certain Democrats' messaging to help bring voters to the polls in November.

"I think it is" smart to use impeachment threats from such Democrats as Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., as one of their campaign messages.

"I think . . . the fear of a Nancy Pelosi Congress, that's more powerful than any policy debate or anything else, because I think Republicans and most of the Independents, a majority of Independents, see that as dangerous to some piece of policy that they like, be it immigration or economic policy.

"So, I think it's a fair thing for Republicans to campaign on."

It has been reported House Democrats might pursue an impeachment of Trump if they win the majority in the chamber. Republicans currently hold a 236-193 majority, which could be in jeopardy this fall.
