GOP, Dems Outraged at Trump's Standing Firm on Va. Remarks

Republicans and Democrats alike bashed President Donald Trump on Twitter on Tuesday for reinforcing his earlier comments blaming both sides for Saturday's Charlottesville violence that killed one woman and injured 19 people, with House Speaker Paul Ryan saying: "We must be clear. White supremacy is repulsive."

Here is the Wisconsin Republican's tweet:

A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky told Politico the six-term Republican had no new comment on President Trump's latest remarks.

On the Democratic side, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York said that "by saying he is not taking sides, Donald Trump clearly is."
