Despite being billed as a conservative lawyer, George Conway, the husband of White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway proceeded to bash Republicans on Wednesday's impeachment hearing.
"I don't think the Republicans made much headway there," Conway told host Brian Williams on MSNBC "Live."
Conway, who has been a nonstop critic of President Donald Trump on Twitter and other media, said the "facts were quite damning" Wednesday.
"The defenses that were put up by the Republicans were fundamentally illogical and incoherent," he continued.
Conway pointed to the GOP arguments Ukraine ultimately wound up getting the lethal military aid and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy never made the statement he was purported to have to make on investigating corruption related to Hunter Biden.
Conway claims it was "the ask that was illegal," although none of the testimony Wednesday detailed firsthand information that the ask was made to Ukraine.
"The second point they tried to make was that the — these witnesses didn't have firsthand communications with the president of the United States," Conway continued, before echoing talking points made by House Democrats on Wednesday. "Well, the reason why we don't have the testimony of firsthand communications with the president of the United States is because the White House has been blocking that."
Despite being married to a close adviser to the president, Conway has been a frequent vocal critic of the president since shortly after he took office, often calling for his ouster and putting him in line with impeachment-seeking House Democrats.
