President Donald Trump's approval rating has hit 45 percent, tied with his highest rating to date, according to Gallup.

Last week Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a historic summit in Singapore, while his administration has begun a strict crackdown on illegal immigration into the U.S., including separating children from their parents if found illegally crossing the border. Despite the controversy over his policies, Trump's approval rating has steadily increased since the end of May.

  • 45 percent of Americans approve of Trump.
  • 50 percent of Americans disapprove.

Trump previously reached 45 percent approval in the week ending Jan. 29, 2017.

Gallup polls approximately 1,500 American adults every week for their presidential approval poll, which has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
