Hillary Clinton should have fired the adviser in her campaign that in 2008 was accused of sexual harassment, Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., said Monday, CNN reported.

Wilson asked CNN's Poppy Harlow if Clinton had been aware of the allegations at the time. When Harlow said Clinton was aware, Wilson responded that Clinton should have fired the adviser "on the spot."

Burns Strider, who was Clinton's faith adviser during her 2008 presidential campaign, was accused of sexual harassment, but Clinton kept him on staff throughout her failed 2008 presidential campaign, a New York Times report said Friday.

CNN reported that Clinton's campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle had recommended Strider be fired after the accusations. "Patti wanted him out, but she was overruled," a source said.

Clinton sent a tweet that said the person who made the allegations, a female campaign staff member, "had her concerns taken seriously and addressed," CNN reported.

Solis Doyle said Monday that she was "disappointed" at Clinton's tweet.

"I was disappointed by that tweet, that response. It was the wrong call. I wish she had said it was the wrong call," she said Monday, Politico reported.
