President Donald Trump will win the state of Florida and its 29 electoral votes, according to Newsmax projections.
With 90% of the vote in, Trump has 51% of the vote to Biden's 48%, according to the Associated Press early tally.
Fox News has cited a Biden campaign source saying it was "waving the white flag" on Florida, expressing disappointment in the Democrats' performance with the Cuban-American vote.
"It's not what we expected," Fox News host Tucker Carlson said on Fox News Channel's election coverage. "Certainly if you live in the world that I live in, the media world, the political world, not many people believe the president had any chance whatsoever. I mean, none. This was going to be a blue wave, this is going to be an early night."
Carlson pointed out the night was early, and the outcome was yet to be determined, but, he added, "I think it is always been a pretty tough race for the incumbent president, but it's not what people thought it was last night, and again, you have to ask yourself, why is that?
Democrat voters on Twitter expressed disdain at the numbers, while others offered comfort, saying "Biden doesn't need Florida."
While Biden can afford to lose the Sunshine's State's 29 electoral votes more than can Trump, it could still hurt, since former President Barack Obama campaigned for him there in the final days leading up to the election.
