FBI Director James Comey held a three-hour classified briefing with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee amid rancorous questions about ties between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian officials, according to a report in The Hill

"I won't talk about it at all," Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., told The Hill.

Members coming out of the meeting refused to divulge the substance of the briefing, and even refused to say who they met with, despite Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, reportedly waving to the FBI director after he left the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, was asked "how Comey was doing," according to the report, and replied with a gin: "Who?"

SCIF is a secure room in the Senate basement used for classified briefings.

"Just a normal classified briefing," Burr told The Hill, adding to further details.

President Trump denounced talk of his ties to Russia in a scathing news conference Thursday, and has continued his attacks of the "fake news" media on Twitter on Friday evening.
