Eric Trump's Fear For Father: 'Lot of New People Around Him'

By    |   Friday, 20 Jan 2017 11:00 AM

Eric Trump, son of incoming president Donald Trump, said his biggest fear for his father's presidency is "having a lot of new people around him."

Eric Trump made the statement during an interview for the CBS News special, "Change and Challenge: The Inauguration of Donald Trump." It airs on CBS on Friday night.

"As a family, we’ve always been a little bit insular—you know, it was my father, it was Don, Ivanka, you know, myself," said Eric, the third-oldest Trump child. "And we were very, very close. And I think it’s going to be an adjustment."

Trump said he was not worried about the new people his father would be working with, however.

"He's picked incredibly, incredibly talented people. And my father—my entire life, I’ve seen this—he can pick talented people. It’s what’s attributed to so much of his success. And I think he’s very much done that here."

Along with his brother, Donald Trump Jr., Eric will be running the Trump Organization business in his father's stead.

"I take our role in the company incredibly seriously and we are going to do the right things," he said in the CBS interview.

At another point during the CBS interview, Eric Trump said Trump's first wife, Eric's mother, will be "front and center" at the inauguration.
