Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., fired a salvo against President Donald Trump on her first official day on the 2020 campaign trail, suggesting her opponent will be jailed before the election, CNN reported.
"By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be president," Warren told a campaign rally Cedar Rapids, Iowa, according to CNN. "In fact, he may not even be a free person."
Sen. Warren, who has been the target of President Trump criticism for her using Native American designations in her past, said this is a "dangerous moment" for the country.
"What happens in 2020 is going to determine the direction of our nation, the direction of our people," she said, per CNN.
"Every day, there's a racist tweet, a hateful tweet, something really dark and ugly. And what are we, as candidates, as activists, the press, going to do about it? Are we going to let him use those to divide us?"
Sen. Warren officially announced her candidacy for the White House on Saturday.
