A new television ad for indicted GOP California Rep. Duncan Hunter's campaign suggests his Democratic opponent is part of an attempt by Muslims to "infiltrate" the United States government.

"Ammar Campa-Najjar is working to infiltrate Congress," the ad's narrator declares. "He's used three different names to hide his family's ties to terrorism," adding the candidate is being funded by the Muslim Brotherhood.

". . . A Palestinian, Mexican-American Democrat named Ammar Campa-Najjar doesn't get his support from the people of San Diego."

The ad was first reported by ABC affiliate 10News.

In a talk with constituents before the ad dropped, Hunter also warned repeatedly about "Islamists" seeking to make inroads into American civic life and said Donald Trump's proposed border wall was critical to keeping out "Palestinian" and "Pakistani" terrorists, according to an audio released by ABC 10News.

The Hunter campaign is using a tactic to call attention to Campa-Jajjar's family history: his grandfather was involved in the terrorist attacks on the 1972 Munich Olympics, Politico reported.

But Campa-Najjar's campaign spokesman told Politico that Hunter is trying to foment fear by unfairly holding the Democrat responsible for the sins of an ancestor he never met.
