GOP House Members Owe NRCC $2 Million

Government service has its price. Republican House members owe the National Republican Congressional Committee more than $2 dues,National, Republican, Congressional, Committee,million in dues from last year’s campaign, Politico reports.

In a closed-door meeting at the Capitol Hill Club Tuesday, party leaders told congressmen what they owe, GOP sources tell the news service.

Several House members are in arrears to the tune of more than $100,000, including Michigan Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, $475,000; Florida Rep. Bill Young, $379,000; Texas Rep. Ron Paul, $325,000; North Carolina Rep. Walter Jones, $262,000; California Rep. Gary Miller, $211,000; South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson, $191,000; and Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry, $169,000.

The dues, which are largely based on seniority, were supposed to have been paid before last year’s Nov. 2 elections.
